My two cents:

I like Dan Abnett

And I like most of his books - but this one here is tricky. It did not really catch me, even though it is not my first Gaunt’s Ghosts story.

Maybe it’s me

I am not even quite sure what the problem was… but this is a book that I am very indifferent about. I don’t mind having spent the time reading (and yes, there are books that I loathe and that I have finished only out of spite), but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are far better Gaunt’s Ghosts, Imperial Guard or WH40k books out there.
